Federal Court Debut
Today, I had an oral argument in federal court on a special education matter. My federal court debut! I prepared for it for a dozen hours and pored over the pleadings that took me dozens of hours each to draft. Then, with one cup of coffee too many streaming through my blood, I defended my work for an hour to the Honorable Mary McLaughlin. We'll know eventually whether she buys my arguments over opposing counsel's - I hope I win! Aside from looking 16 and being (probably painfully obviously) nervous, I'd say it went "all right". But, I did it! Onto the U.S. Supreme Court... or at least SCOTUSblog.
